Saigon, i.e. Ho Chi Minh City, is one of my favourite places on earth. It is a vibrant and fun city with a lot of delicious food and coffee spots. I lived there for well over a year, so I may be a little biased, but I’d say it is one of the best cities in Asia.

It isn’t always popular with tourists, since there aren’t a huge amount of sights to see. But there is a vibrant cafe culture and a hip young crowd, which is probably why Saigon has so much oat milk on offer!

I spent a lot of time seeking out oat milk in coffee shops all around Saigon, but considering just how popular it was, I imagine I barely touched the sides. If you know of any other spots, let me know in the comment section below!

My favourite spots

There were a few spots around Saigon that I found myself going back to time and time again, for numerous reasons. Most of all, because the coffee was great. But also because of the place’s feel. Here they are!

Oat milk coffee at Zeroism one of the best oat milk coffee spots in Saigon

Zeroism

  • Location: Thảo Điền
  • Oat milk: Oatside
  • Benefits: Work-friendly and tasty 100% vegan food
  • I recommend: Phin coffee with a side of oat milk

Zeroism is my favourite cafe in the whole of Ho Chi Minh City. Mostly because of the great variety of 100% vegan food, I’m talking sourdough pizza, sourdough banh mi, and a delicious plant-based pad Thai!

Not only is their food great, but their coffee is too. They have a wide selection of coffee, most of which uses homemade nut milk, but they offer oat milk in most of them for a small surcharge. I personally enjoyed ordering their phin coffee (nice and strong) with a side of oat milk to take the edge off.

Aramour Coffee Roasters

  • Location: Thảo Điền and Bình Thạnh
  • Oat milk: Oatly
  • Benefits: Great atmosphere and delicious coffee
  • I recommend: Oatly flat white

Aramour Coffee Roasters is a bustling coffee shop with beautiful decor. It’s Insta-worthy, not that my photography skills help to show that. It is easy to see why this place is so busy when you take your first sip of their coffee. It is perfectly balanced and really quite drinkable.

The baristas at Aramour Coffee Roasters really know what they are doing. You may well find yourself coming back here every day to try out a different coffee with Oatly.

HAVE A SIP

  • Location: Thảo Điền
  • Oat milk: Oatside
  • Benefits: Great location and atmosphere
  • I recommend: Iced latte with oat milk

When you first step into HAVE A SIP you may feel like you’ve come to the wrong place. It gives off more bar vibes than it does coffee shop, but that is because it doubles up as a bar. Stick around long enough and you can go from sipping iced oat lattes to G&Ts.

The coffee is tasty and the iced lattes are lovely and smooth. The space itself is very trendy and cool. If you’re lucky, you may get to meet the resident dog!
