If you are looking for good quality, tasty vegan food in Split, then you are in luck. I was there recently and thoroughly enjoyed everything I ate. From pancake stacks and crispy tofu sandwiches for breakfast, to fresh pasta and tempeh salad bowls for lunch and dinner.

I am dedicating this guide to the 100% vegan restaurants in Split. It is a short list, but all three are just so good that I ended up eating at each multiple times (for breakfast, lunch and dinner). And I would recommend you do the same if visiting for just a few days.

I was genuinely impressed by the quality of the vegan food from all three. Each has such a good variety of items on its menu, with breakfast and dinner options, that I could have spent even more time at these places.

All are located in the old town and are within 5 minutes of each other on foot – doesn’t get easier than that.

I have also mentioned a few vegan-friendly spots at the bottom of this guide, so you can enjoy some gelato and an oat flat white or two, as well as stock up on some vegan-friendly groceries and toiletries whilst in Split.

The best 100% vegan food

Pandora Greenbox

Pandora Greenbox was probably my most visited vegan restaurant in this list, most of all, because of their pancakes. They are some of the best vegan pancakes I’ve had in a restaurant. Hands down. I enjoyed both flavours: peanut with chocolate and berry with sour cream.

Their lunch and dinner menus are also great, with large portions and great flavours. The burgers and pasta dishes are flavourful and wholesome, and I’ve heard great things about the hummus.

The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was their coffee, which was Costa Coffee (not a brand I love).

BARAKOKULA

My favourite savoury vegan dish in Split comes from BARAKOKULA. It is their truffle mushroom pasta, which comes coated in truffle oil and a nutty vegan Parmesan. The pasta has a good chew, and the flavour is rich and absolutely delicious.

That being said, all the other dishes we tried were also packed full of flavour and equally delicious (I just have a slight truffle obsession). For example, their ‘Sexy Tofu’ dish is amazing, with crispy tofu on top of a creamy sweet potato puree.

They have a great drinks list with some pretty good Aperol Spritz, with a slightly fancier seating area, so great for a date night or nice evening out.

Veg

Veg is another solid vegan restaurant in the old town of Split. It opens at 8.30am (the others open at 9am), making it a great breakfast spot for the early risers. Their tofu sandwich is my favourite savoury vegan breakfast option in the city. The tofu is perfectly crispy and incredibly satisfying with a cup of coffee and a glass of orange juice.

I also really enjoyed their salad bowls, most of all the Game Changer, which is made with tempeh, grains, sweet potato fries and a mayo dressing. It was filling, tasty, and healthy!

When I was there, they also had sushirittos on as a special. These are basically a sushi roll that hasn’t been cut into individual pieces, making it more like a burrito, which is as good as it sounds!

Other vegan-friendly spots

If you are looking for vegan gelato, an oat flat white, or grocery supplies in Split, then you will need to look further afield than the fully vegan restaurants. I wandered around looking for a few different gelato spots to try in the old town and discovered two with a good variety of tasty vegan options, and I also tried out a few coffee shops with oat milk. Moreover, I discovered a great health foods shop with tonnes of vegan-friendly cooking ingredients, snacks and toiletries. Check them out:
