My favourite vegan food in Paris (in 2026)

Last updated: April 6, 2026

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from Paris as a vegan. But the city completely won me over, with a brilliant mix of fully plant-based restaurants, cafés, and bakeries that I would happily return to again and again. Here are my top picks.

France has a reputation for being a tough place for vegans, and so I’ll admit I wasn’t expecting much on my recent trip to Paris. But I was pleasantly surprised.

I found the city to have a thriving vegan scene, with a great mix of fully plant-based restaurants, bakeries, and cafés scattered across the arrondissements. Although, you will find most of them north of the river!

From elegant small plates near the Louvre to Afro-Caribbean bowls in the 10th, there is something here for every mood and every meal. Here are my favourite vegan spots in Paris.

Note, there is just one non-vegan restaurant in this list (a vegetarian place) – all of them are marked clearly in my list.

My top picks

Daimant Saint-Honoré

Tucked away near the Louvre, Daimant Saint-Honoré was recommended to me by my (non-vegan) tour guide, and I am so glad I listened. After just a few bites, I knew this was the best vegan food I had eaten in Paris, and honestly, in a very long time.

The flavour combinations are sublime and everything is cooked to perfection. Stand-out dishes included vegan caviar with deep-fried pockets of potato heaven, French mushroom skewers with rice and yoghurt, and a pasta dish with leftover veg and meaty mushrooms that was so rich and deep in flavour it is hard to describe.

Dishes are around 17 to 21 euros, and three to four between two people is just right. The staff are attentive and genuinely lovely.

I was so impressed by the mains that I ordered dessert too, a Snickers mousse cake and a candy apple dessert, both of which were excellent. Do not miss this one!

Maslow 1er

Maslow 1er is a vegetarian tapas-style spot right on the banks of the Seine, with great outdoor seating (albeit a little squished, as is the Parisian way).

The menu is around half vegan, with dishes at roughly 9 to 10 euros each. Plan on two to three per person. The online reviews are mixed, but I am glad I gave it a try.

The menu is inventive and varied, with a good balance of fresh and fried dishes. Highlights included a kohlrabi and nut carpaccio and some excellent corn nuggets, all washed down with a glass of natural wine in the sun.

The star of the show, though, was the Korean cauliflower, which was fantastic. They also have a second restaurant, Maslow Temple, with a similarly vegetarian and vegan-friendly menu and a bar.

Urban Greener

If I were handing out awards to every restaurant on this list, Urban Greener would win for friendliest service, hands down. The waiter was so warm and welcoming that he made the whole experience.

Fortunately, the food matched the hospitality. The seitan was excellent (I genuinely wish I had the recipe), the wine was poured generously, and the vegan foie gras was a fascinating and delicious take on a French classic.

The menu is very French in character and changes daily, so expect something different each time you visit. A really special spot in a beautiful location – Montmartre. Make sure to walk around this area before or after your visit to Urban Greener, particularly if you are an Amélie fan.

Land&Monkeys

Land&Monkeys is a fully vegan bakery chain with around ten locations across Paris (at the time of writing), so you are never too far from one. I actually first discovered them in Bordeaux, so I was thrilled to find them here.

They are one of the only places open in the morning, which makes them a great option for breakfast or a mid-morning snack. The range covers cinnamon rolls, croissants, pain au chocolat, quiche, sandwiches, salads, and some very pretty desserts.

The quiche had a lovely eggy, custard-like texture with good flavour, and the petit pain came filled with La Vie bacon, which was comforting and satisfying. Two savoury dishes and coffee came to around 20 euros. One small note: the coffee foam on the flat white was on the bubbly side for my taste, but that is a minor quibble.

Jah Jah

After a run of rich food, including vegan takes on French classics, burgers, pancakes, and pastries, I was craving something lighter and more balanced. Jah Jah delivered exactly that. It is a vegan Afro-Caribbean restaurant serving generous bowls packed with beans, plantain, tofu, rice, grains, and plenty of vegetables.

Everything was fresh and beautifully put together, and the beans were genuinely some of the best I have had. The rice alone was so good I could have eaten a whole bowl of it on its own.

If you are not in the mood for something light, they also serve burgers, so there is something for everyone.

Green Farmer’s

Sometimes you just need a really good burger, and Green Farmer’s delivers. With locations in Pigalle and the 11th arrondissement, this fully vegan spot does burgers and fries at around 13 euros a pop, with options that include vegan beef, bacon, chicken, and fish.

The flavours are really well developed, with simple but satisfying combinations like vegan chicken and avocado or BBQ bacon. The burgers are meaty and filling, and the bread is satisfyingly crispy, though be warned it does tend to fall apart, so come prepared for a bit of a mess.

I also ordered a vegan chicken rice box from Deliveroo on an evening I was passing back through Paris, and it was just as tasty – although not the healthiest!

Mesa

Mesa is the restaurant at the 100% vegan hotel where I stayed in Paris (more on that below in the where to stay section), and it is well worth a visit whether or not you are a guest.

I tried breakfast on two separate mornings and came back for the chef’s menu in the evening. Breakfast covers pancakes, pastries, avocado toast, and juice and coffee, though sadly no flat whites.

The Mesa breakfast plate with croissant, toast, juice, and coffee was wholesome and filling, and the spirulina butter was a lovely touch. On my second morning I went for the pancakes, which were fluffy and delicious, and the avocado toast with whipped mayo, which was generous and really tasty.

The evening chef’s menu is more of a special occasion affair at around 69 euros for the food, but it was inventive and fun, with highlights including a vegan taramasalata that was genuinely convincing and some excellent arancini balls.

Cloud Cakes

Cloud Cakes is a fully vegan café in the 2nd arrondissement, open from 9.30am Monday to Saturday (and 11.30am on Sundays), making it one of the better options if you are after breakfast or a morning treat.

The menu includes pastries, cakes, pancakes, avocado toast, grilled cheese, and coffee with Oatly. I tried the French toast and the grilled cheese, and both were solid.

The French toast was crispy on the outside and soft and squidgy inside, served with whipped cream, maple syrup, and fresh fruit. The grilled cheese was full of flavour, lifted nicely by mushrooms and pepper, though I would have loved a protein addition.

The real highlight, though, was the macarons. I spotted them coming out of the fridge and knew immediately I had to try one. They were delicious and crisp, just give them a few minutes to come up to room temperature first.

B.Better

B.Better is a small and charming vegan restaurant in the 4th arrondissement, with a compact menu that combines BBQ dishes with, somewhat unexpectedly, a Tex-Mex influence.

The staff are super friendly. When I was there the waitress encouraged me to try the vegan octopus, which is made from mushrooms and absolutely worth ordering for the novelty. It has a squidgy texture and a subtly fishy flavour that is really quite convincing.

Portions are generous, the octopus arriving on a huge mound of mash that I could not quite finish, but it was very well seasoned throughout. A quirky, welcoming little spot that is well worth seeking out. Special mention to the singing waitress, who was an absolute delight.

More vegan food

This list of my favourite vegan food in Paris is by no means all that the city has to offer! There are a surprising number of 100% vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants dotted across the city (although mostly north of the river). If you didn’t find something that took your fancy in the list above, then you may also want to check out some of the following places:

  • Conscience – A vegan Vietnamese restaurant that I sadly only discovered on my last night, and didn’t get a chance to visit. As a big fan of Vietnamese food, I was gutted about this, particularly after reading all the great reviews.
  • Le Potager de Charlotte – A vegan restaurant I visited because of all the great reviews, but I was a little underwhelmed by the food. It was the place I enjoyed the least out of everything I tried. But it still has great reviews, so you may want to check it out!
  • Furahaa – If you are a big burger fan, then you may want to try other great vegan burger places, like Furahaa.
  • Les Tontons Veg – The same as above, this is another great vegan burger place to check out.
  • brEAThe – A vegan sushi restaurant with imaginative rolls and great cocktails, unfortunately, I also didn’t find out about this restaurant until the end of my trip!

Whilst in the city, why not check out all my favourite things to do in Paris!

Where to stay in Paris

Did you know there is a 100% vegan hotel in Paris?! I stayed there on my last trip to the city, and it was stunning. With a plant-based restaurant on-site (serving breakfast from 7.30 am), a yoga studio, and thoughtfully designed spaces and rooms, it is the perfect place to stay.

I can’t put into words just how nice it is to stay in a space that is vegan-friendly. From the toiletries, the linens, and the food served in the restaurant. It is similarly priced to most hotels in the area, and the location is perfect!
